Situated right off a busy interstate its not overly clear the reasoning behind this former Days Inn's closure. From HBO pamphlets found inside it appears the hotel closed sometime in 2013. Many of the reviews online are either 1 star or 5 star with most of the 5 star reviews being almost exactly alike leading me to believe they were by the owners. The 1 star reviews mention bad water, dirty beds, and bad food from the restaurant next door. The Days Inn also has a huge truck parking lot and a weigh station, the foundation of a former Sunoco gas station still remains out front. At one time this hotel was a bustling stop for passing workers.
Upon arriving we didn't know what to expect. I got this location from a friend who had been in 2019. The hotel is located off the interstate, however it is somewhat still hidden up on a hill. The building seems like it was secured at one point in time but is now wide open, broken windows riddle the facade. The entire property has been destroyed by both water damage and vandalism. It is surprising just how much is really left behind including the brand signs.
