In case you didn't already know, plans are under way to tear down the Martinsburg mall, now known as the Foxcroft Towne Center, and turn it into a strip "mall". We planned to go to the mall once demolition began underway and we went 2 days after it began. I went without Brandon to scout it out, easily finding a way in. We came back the second day only to find workers still there. We walked around and failed to find a working enterance while we waited for the workers to go home for the night. When they finally left we found an easy way in and began filming on a now tight time schedule as we had waisted much time already and it was getting dark fast, as we had planned to film with daylight flooding in through the skylights. It was pitch black when we got in and dust was heavy. They had already gutted out a nail salon and an eye care store, stacking the metal in the middle between the once iconic pillars that held up the high ceiling sky lights and surrounding trees. We filmed for roughly an hour and a half and found many interesting things in our journey including stores with merchandise still inside. The power was on emergency backup and is now fully cut. We relied heavily on our lights. The entire experience was very strange as we were used to seeing the mall open and stores lit up.
